Answers to your project questions

What can I expect after I have been contacted by McCrumb Construction & Marine, Inc?
1. We will conduct a site visit. Owners do not need to be present.
2. You will be contacted by Brett to discuss any project limitations and what you would like to see as an end product (if Brett has contacted you prior to the site visit and he sees no problem with the ideas discussed, he will start the design process)
3. Brett will design your structure and upon completion, will email you both a proposal and a drawing.
I don't have a design for my dock, can you help me with this?
Certainly! Just submit the contact form or call our office. A team member will call you to obtain information, including your property location, existing structures and your best contact information. During that call, we will inquire about your construction project and get your thoughts about what you would like to see in your end product. If you have a drawing, we will ask you to email or fax it to us
I have a dock in need of repair or replacement. Where do I start?
First step is to contact McCrumb Construction & Marine, Inc. or the contractor of your choice. Rules and regulations along the shoreline exist and it is wise to consult professionals who work with the various lake shore authorities before demolishing or modifying structures in, on or near the lake.
Should I tear out my old dock?
No. We highly advise you contact us first. Some regulations only allow repairs or replacement up to 50%. If the dock has been removed, it is possible it will not be approved for a permit to rebuild.
How large can I build my dock?
You are allowed 8 square feet per lineal foot of shoreline.
I would like a boatlift. Is this an option?
We are accustomed to building the structure to accommodate a boatlift. We do not sell boatlifts, but we are happy to recommend dealers in the area for your convenience. We work with them to be sure your dock, boat and lift will be ready for summer.
The proposal and drawing are just perfect. What next?
Email us back and let us know you want to proceed. We will ask that you sign the proposal and submit the Material/Schedule deposit. If needed, we will also include a permit for the owner to sign.
I signed the proposal and sent in the deposit. When can I expect work to begin?
The day the Material & Schedule deposit is received determines the start date. We schedule in the order deposits are received. This is subject to weather conditions and lake levels. McCrumb Construction & Marine, Inc. does it’s very best to include a time frame that your dock project will be completed. However, the lake levels can wreak havoc on our schedule in the spring and fall, so occasionally we have to shift the schedule around so that everyone has a dock for summer.

What Our Customers Are Saying

Don’t just take it from us, let our customers do the talking!

“My experience with McCrumb Construction was stellar. Their knowledge and experience guided me through this process in a professional and personal way.

Once you make the decision to work with them, they will determine all of the necessary details in order transform your imagined project in to a reality.

Our new dock is amazing. It looks great, feels solid, and matched up to existing structures perfectly. They were able to complete the process while our boat was on the lift just inches away.

Their experience and expertise took all of the stress out of my hands as they smoothly steered us through each step from bidding to completion.

It was great to see their craftsmanship on our small project and realize that their standards apply to projects both large and small.

We could not be more satisfied with the end result and would highly recommend McCrumb Construction for your project. You should definitely get onboard with this crew!” Melanie L.

I would highly recommend McCrumb Construction for professional, high quality, dock construction. I was given three plans with different features and different pricing. Therefore it put the decision on me as to how extensive I wanted to go.
The crew came and worked quickly and efficiently! Our once unusable, rocky shoreline now has a beautiful 12’ x 24’ deck, partially over the water and land, covering what use to be a hazard. I now have a dock for two boats and thanks to Brett, a lowered kayak launching platform AND my yard submersible pump is hidden at the far end of the dock and is self draining!! No need for me to unhook wiring and pull it out every year! Again this was a suggestion from Brett!! He and his crew are the best!!

“Our family has a home on the lake. We had a dock, built in 1985, that needed replacing. In the summer of 2015. We got at least 5 estimates, and while all of the companies were helpful, we were immediately impressed by Brett McCrumb, from McCrumb Construction & Marine. We had some issues with the placement and size of the dock due to the age of the dock, and regulation changes through the years. Brett took those questions and concerns to the Shoreline Protection Variance Board himself, to get clarifications for us. All of the other companies told us what we would have to do, but Brett took care of all of that for us! I In the end, we have one of the most beautiful docks on the lake.

We cannot say enough good things about Bret and his crew. They are honest, have the highest integrity, were completely invested in making sure we were happy and satisfied with the results of our project. Everything was completed on time, and the craftsmanship was excellent!
