Our Story

McCrumb Construction & Marine, Inc is a third-generation Montana business located in Polson, Montana.  Our barge had humble beginnings, built in a shop on Finley Point.  For over 20 years we have worked on Flathead Lake, and both the barge and the business have evolved and excelled.


In 2007, Brett and Pam McCrumb acquired Flathead Dock & Pile, Inc. They soon after renamed it McCrumb Construction & Marine, Inc. Over the years, all three of their sons and many locals worked on the barge or in roles supporting the shoreline work that is the hallmark of the business. 


Known for his integrity and years of construction knowledge, Brett McCrumb took the business to new heights.  Brett was a leader who found true joy in giving employees responsibility and watching them exceed his expectations. He built a team that is proud of their work and assured that their contributions to the company are appreciated.


In 2020, his middle son, Stefan McCrumb, rejoined the team. As years progressed, he took a bigger role in making decisions for the company.  He became a partner in 2024, and together with his dad, the company continued to grow and improve into 2025.


In May of 2025, Brett McCrumb lost his battle with pancreatic cancer.  In usual Brett fashion, he had prepared for this transition. Stefan stepped into his role and the team stepped up to help fill the void. McCrumb Construction & Marine, Inc. is moving into a new era. With Stefan’s leadership and the foundation that was laid by Brett over the years, the company will strive to continue providing premier construction built with pride and integrity.
