Frequently Asked Questions

1. We will conduct a site visit. Owners do not need to be present.
2. You will be contacted by Brett to discuss any project limitations and what you would like to see as an end product for your dock construction (if Brett has contacted you prior to the site visit and he sees no problem with the ideas discussed, he will start the design process)
3. Brett will design your structure and upon completion, will email you both a proposal and a drawing.

McCrumb Construction will help with permitting of your dock projects. We work with all permitting agencies and have staff experienced in this area.

Certainly! As your dock builder, we can handle that. Just submit the contact form or call our office. A team member will call you to obtain information, including your property location, existing structures and your best contact information. During that call, we will inquire about your construction project and get your thoughts about what you would like to see in your end product. If you have a drawing, we will ask you to email or fax it to us.

First step is to contact McCrumb Construction & Marine, Inc. Rules and regulations along the shoreline exist and it is wise to consult professionals who work with the various lake shore authorities before demolishing or modifying existing dock construction, on or near the lake. Don’t forget that we can build year-round, regardless of water level all around Flathead Lake!

No. We highly advise you contact your dock builder first. Some regulations on Flathead Lake only allow repairs or replacement up to 50%. If the dock has been removed, it is possible it will not be approved for a permit to rebuild.

You are allowed 8 square feet per lineal foot of shoreline.

We are accustomed to building the structure to accommodate a boatlift. We do not sell boatlifts, but we are happy to recommend dealers in the area for your convenience. We work with them to be sure your custom dock, boat and lift will be ready for summer.

Email us back and let us know you want to proceed. We will ask that you sign the proposal and submit the Material/Schedule deposit. If needed, we will also include a permit for the owner to sign.

The day the dock builder receives the Material & Schedule deposit determines the start date. We schedule dock construction in the order deposits are received. This is subject to weather conditions and lake levels. McCrumb Construction & Marine, Inc. does its very best to include a time frame that your dock project will be completed. However, Flathead Lake levels can wreak havoc on our schedule in the spring and fall, so occasionally we have to shift the schedule around so that everyone has a dock for summer.
